The first of the three meetings in 2012 of ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is to be held in San Jose, Costa Rica on the 11th to 16th of March, 2012.
ICANN is a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation that has the responsibility of coordinating Internet names and numbers so that the web will continue to be stable, secure, and interoperable.
Each year, ICANN launches three separate meetings. For 2012, the first meeting will be held in Costa Rica (March 11-16); the second one in Prague, Czech Republic (June 24-29); and the last in Toronto, Canada (October 14-19).
The whole ICANN community is very much excited for these international public meetings.
ICANN Meeting #43 in Costa Rica
Costa Rica is said to be the greenest country in the world. It boasts of a rich wildlife, biodiversity, and culture. Located in Central America, Costa Rica is one of the most-visited tourist spots in the world.
The 43rd ICANN Meeting will take place in one of Costa Rica’s luxury places – the Ramada Plaza Herradura Golf Resort and Conference Center.
The host for this event is the National Academy of Sciences – NIC Costa Rica. Pertinent matters and issues in relation to the role of ICANN will be discussed.
About 1,200 – 1,500 Internet authorities and specialists across more than 100 countries are expected to attend.
