SnapNames has now opened up their submission form for the DomainFest Live Auction to be held on January 22 & 23, 2008. The deadline for submissions is December 11th, all submissions will be reviewed.

LOS ANGELES (BUSINESS WIRE) DomainSponsor, the domain monetization business of Oversee.net, today announced that the next DOMAINfest, Global will take place January 21-23, 2008. Due to popular demand, the event will return to the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, California, where DomainSponsor plans to build on the success of its first global conference held earlier this year.

The Company’s 3rd regional event, DOMAINfest Amsterdam, took place in mid-May and was an international success. The conference was attended by more than two hundred guests from nearly twenty countries across the globe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, and Israel. In commenting on the event, Ron Sheridan, Director of Business Development for DomainSponsor, said, DOMAINfest Amsterdam connected international domainers with mutual interests. It was an intense learning and networking experience. With each conference, our goal is to offer more to the domainer community, and establish DOMAINfest as the premier conference and marketplace for the domain industry.

Speakers at DOMAINfest Amsterdam represented major industry players, such as Sedo, NICIT, NameMedia, EuroDNS, and Yahoo, who discussed today’s major domain industry issues.

The leading domain conference premiered its first live auction in Amsterdam organized by show sponsor, NICIT. Twenty-seven domains were sold, totaling just under $1 million. While Liz Williams, Senior Policy Counselor at ICANN, reviewed the upcoming round of new TLDs in her keynote speech, DOMAINfest hosted the sale of the highest grossing ccTLD on record. Poker.de sold for over $937,000 at live auction.

“It was exciting to hear the perspectives of European domain experts and learn from them,” Lawrence Ng, Oversee.net Chief Executive Officer, said. “This event helps lay the groundwork for a fantastic global event in January 2008. We understand how important our continued partnerships with top domain professionals are to the success of DOMAINfest events and we plan to nurture those key relationships to produce an event that’s important and pertinent to the industry as a whole.”

Registration for DOMAINfest Global will open Monday, June 11, 2007. To register or learn more about DOMAINfest Global, visit http://www.domainfest.com or e-mail info@domainfest.com. DOMAINfest Global is open to all domain industry professionals.

In related news, last week Oversee.net announced that it had signed an agreement to acquire SnapNames, the operator of the largest available source of expired and deleting domain names, which will enhance the services provided to the domain-owner community, supporting the entire life cycle of domain name procurement, monetization and sales.
